ALPHA-STIM M is an integrated medical device that operates using a proven, effective and safe electrotherapy method for the treatment of any type of pain, including acute, chronic pain and pain due to inflammation, trauma or degeneration as well as tension, anxiety, insomnia and depression. The treatment is applied through the device's ear clips for 20 minutes to an hour for relaxation, mood improvement and sleep and pain treatment is with the application of adhesive-electrodes or probes
The device can be used in the comfort of home or at work, while doing daily activities such as watching TV, reading, working on the computer or doing light housework.

The method of treatment
ALPHA-STIM M is a device that combines two treatment methods: an electrotherapy method known as CRANIAL ELECTROTHERAPY STIMULATION or CES to treat anxiety, insomnia and depression, and an electrotherapy method using microcurrent MICROCURRENT ELECTRICAL THERAPY or MET to reduce chronic, acute, post-traumatic pain and other pains.
In the MET method, the pain is treated using probes or adhesive-electrodes. Since the sensation of pain is transmitted through our body along billions of nerve cells that are designed to transmit pain messages (via electro-chemical signals), the unique waveform of microcurrent applied through Alpha-Stim modulates the signals within the cell to provide significant pain relief.
CES treatment is applied through electrodes that attach to the earlobes. Alpha Stim transmits a current at the level of microamps (similar to those found in our bodies naturally) that affect the chemical activity of certain groups of nerve cells targeted at the brain stem and as a result, increase the level of neurotransmitters - beta-endorphins and serotonin and the activity of alpha waves in the brain.
Beta-endorphins contribute to a state of calmness and peace and serotonin has a role in regulating our mood, appetite, sleep and cognitive functions, including memory and learning. Alpha waves are the brain waves that operate in a state of alertness and relaxation.

Contraindications
Alpha-Stim M may affect the operation of an artificial implantable pacemaker and the operation of implanted fibrillators.
